Federal Agencies Reach Tribal Sovereignty Deal – The Presidential Prayer Team

The Interior directs a dozen departments in a memorandum supporting Native Americans.

The Department of the Interior this week entered into a memorandum of understanding with 11 other federal departments, pledging to collaborate and quickly implement Tribal 477 Plans. the ability to streamline key processes through the Home Office, including employment, training programs, funding and various services.

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland reaffirmed the administration’s support for tribal sovereignty. “Today’s signing is an example of that commitment,” the secretary said. “I am grateful to the tribal leaders who for years have spoken out on the need to improve the implementation of Public Law 102-477 and whose efforts will create better jobs and economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples. .”

The departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Labor, Transportation and of Veterans Affairs joined in the signing of the memorandum.
