The Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (GUAMPO) is seeking public comment on its proposed program of projects for the federal fiscal year, which ends September 30, 2022.
A public hearing on the draft program of projects will take place during the virtual meeting of the GUAMPO Transportation Advisory Committee on Wednesday, June 22.

The Project Program of Projects is a list of planned federal and state transportation grants to support bus and paratransit services. The proposed grants are for the Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA), the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART), and Guilford County Transportation and Mobility Services (TAMS).
The draft program of projects is available for review at www.guampo.org.
The Program of Projects lists applications for federal grants for planning assistance, maintenance and operating costs for paratransit services and fixed-route services, and capital costs.
It also includes a grant request for $225,000 with a local match of $56,000 for bus shelters and replacement support vehicles.
In addition, there is a request for a federal grant for operating expenses for part of $286,000, which would be paid for with US bailout funds.
GTA will apply for a federal grant of $1.8 million with a local match of $450,000 to replace four obsolete diesel buses with four clean diesel buses.
GTA is also requesting a federal grant of $3 million with a local match of $530,000 to purchase three electric buses, three overnight chargers and a fast charger.
GTA is also requesting a federal grant of $587,000 with local matching of $147,000 for the replacement of paratransit vehicles used by Access GSO.
GTA is also requesting a grant of $658,000 with a local match of $165,000 for fuel and operating expenses of Access GSO.
